Over half a million parents have no life insurance…
Half a million parents with children under 17 have no life insurance… if you think about that stat it is a little scary. To put it in perspective it’d be like every person in Cork having no life insurance.
We’re all so busy with day to day demands we don’t have time to think about what might happen if we weren’t around. It’s not a nice thing to think about so maybe it’s easier not to. But the reality is that we paid over €218 million in life and specified illness claims in 2014. 36% of the specified illness cover claims and 15% of the death claims were paid to people under 50 and it’s very likely a good proportion of these customers had dependent children. No doubt the claim payments made a big difference to them and their families at a very difficult time.

We’ve recently launched a new TV and radio campaign to highlight the importance of life cover for parents in particular. Our research has shown that 1 in 3 people think €100,000 of life cover costs over €50 a month when in fact it can cost from as little as €15 a month (Source: Coyne Research, 2013). The actual cost of cover depends on your age, health, the type of plan, how long you want the plan for and the amount of cover you need.
We’ve developed a new tool called LifeLens to help you check the amount of life cover that you might need and how much that might cost. So why not take the first step and check it out heretoday
